The Bull Soldier is an enemy featured in Serious Sam 2.

Overview[]

The Bull Soldier appears as a red, demon-like humanoid creature. It is equipped with two rocket launchers that are attached to its arms.

Appearances[]

Bull Soldiers are first encountered in Road to Ursul and Ursul Suburbs. They appear in many of the later levels as common enemies & larger version is only appears in Castle of Rock, filling a similar role to Zumb'uls from Serious Sam: The Second Encounter.

Behavior and skills[]

When the Bull Soldier spots a target, it will fire its rockets one at a time, with each rocket aimed at the direction the player is moving. Once both rockets are fired, the Bull Soldier will have a brief “charge-up” period, then fire again. If the player gets too close to a Bull Soldier, the Bull Soldier will smack them with its arms.

Tactics[]

  • The best way to avoid a Bull Soldier's rockets is to keep moving and strafing. This makes it much more difficult for the Bull Soldier to hit the player.
  • The RAPTOR Sniper Rifle makes quick work of the Bull Soldier, as two scoped hits can kill it. This can be very useful for taking out faraway Bull Soldiers that are harassing the player from a distance.
  • Groups of Bull Soldiers should be dealt with by using the XM214-A Minigun and Beam Gun. The amount of damage they do and their high rate of fire allow the player to dispatch them quickly.
  • Despite their low health, Bull Soldiers are a real threat because of how much damage their rockets do, especially at higher difficulty levels, even if the rockets don't directly hit the player. They should be one of the first enemies targeted when with other enemies.
  • The Bull Soldier can be taken down with the XPML30 Rocket Launcher, but it is recommended that the player aims for its feet, because a rocket fired at the chest will usually collide with a rocket fired by the Bull Soldier, destroying both rockets. Dual wielding the rocket launcher with another one is a useful workaround to this.

Trivia[]

  • Bull Soldiers (like Tank Bio-mechanoids) speak Croatian phrases.
  • It is unknown what kind of bull/demon-like alien makes up the Bull Soldiers/Tank Bio-mechanoids/Generals from the waist up. One possible theory is that, like the Sirian Werebulls, they are made from Sirian and cattle DNA.
  • Their legs are not actually part of their own bodies, but the Martial Arts Masters' legs (after they were chopped off) sewn on.
