Deathmatch (Fragmatch in Serious Sam 1) is a versus multiplayer mode in the Serious Sam series.
Overview
Deathmatch is a versus multiplayer mode where the objective is to kill, or frag, fellow players until the frag or the time limit is reached. The player will spawn with a melee weapon and a basic Pistol (and a 12 Gauge Pump-Action Shotgun in Serious Sam HD) and must look for other weapons, ammo and powerups throughout a level. There's nothing else to it.
Deathmatch has it's own dedicated levels just for playing in it. An example of a deathmatch level is Desert Temple.
Tips
- Memorizing the locations of important items is very important for those that constantly want to do very good. “Controlling” an area by constantly grabbing the items in it will prevent enemies from using it, and most importantly, give the player a lot of resources and supplies.
- If the Military Knife is taken out, the player will run notably faster than with other weapons. Take advantage of this to quickly get to locations or pick up an item before someone else dies.
- As soon as the player spawns, their first priority should be to get a better weapon. Even a simple Pump Shotgun can make a world of difference.
