Extra Large Armor (Mega Vest in Serious Sam: Double D) is an item that gives the player 100 armor points when picked up. The item appears in many Serious Sam games.

Overview[]

When picked up, extra large armor gives the player 100 armor points. In most games, it will not exceed the 100 normal armor cap, though it can in Serious Sam 2, Serious Sam 3: BFE, Serious Sam 4, and Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem.

Appearances[]

Extra large armor is usually given to the player before a large fight occurs, which is a big hint to the player that they're going to be involved in a big fight. It also appears between waves in certain difficult levels, such as Metropolis. When picked up, it triggers the next wave.

It can also be found in secrets as often as Super Armor, sometimes with power-ups.

Behind the scenes[]

Extra large armor had a completely different model in the Alpha version of Serious Sam 1, appearing as a silver and gold knight cuirass.

Trivia[]

Extra large armor's design varies between games:
- In Serious Sam 1, Serious Sam: Next Encounter and Serious Sam HD, it is a blue vest.
- In Serious Sam Advance, it uses the super armor texture.
- In Serious Sam 2, it is a suit of yellow armor with a helmet and a shield with blue patterns.
- In Serious Sam 3: BFE, it is a Kevlar vest and a helmet.
- In Serious Sam: Double D, it is a red vest bearing the Serious Sam logo.
- In Serious Sam 4 and Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem, it is a suit of black armored tactical gear with a black and yellow helmet.
