Kleer Kurt (or Kleer Kenny) is a playable multiplayer character in the Serious Sam series.

Biography[]

Kleer Kurt is a Kleer Skeleton who stands on two legs like a person. Why he has decided to fight against Mental is unknown.

Appearances[]

He is first introduced in Serious Sam 1, and makes more appearances in Serious Sam 2, Serious Sam HD, Serious Sam 3: BFE and Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem. In Siberian Mayhem, he was added along with other multiplayer characters in the 1.03 patch. [1] In the latter game, he is unlocked after the player unlocks a medal on the survival level, Kleer Fortress.

Appearance[]

Unlike normal Kleer Skeletons, Kleer Kurt stands on his hind legs and uses his front legs to hold and fire weapons. His front leg claws have been given fingers to resemble hands.

Trivia[]

  • In the classic Serious Sam games, Kleer Kurt is a popular model in Deathmatch and other versus game modes, because it is harder to see him than most of the other models. In Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter, he has been given glowing organs and eyes in order to give people using him less of an advantage.
  • His character's quote is a reference to the demise that the Kleers met at the hands of Mental, who incinerated their planet by means of orbital bombardment.
  • In Serious Sam HD, Kleer Kurt's model was not updated to use the new Kleer skeleton model. In Serious Sam 3, he uses the Serious Sam 3 Kleer model with Sam's gloves and was renamed to Kleer Kenny.
    • In Siberian Mayhem, he uses a new model based on the Serious Sam 4 Kleer but with black bones and shoulder pauldrons like the Serious Sam 1 and Serious Sam HD renditions. He is also now named Kleer Kurt again, presumably to avoid confusion with Kenneth Orkanti, otherwise known as Kenny.
  • His new model uses several of the Kleer's sounds from Serious Sam 2. Because of this, he will make a bowling ball sound effect upon dying.
  • Despite being a skeleton, he still bleeds red blood like with every other player character in the game. Additionally, he also has the same destruction model as every other player character if he is killed in a way that gibs him (i.e. getting hit by Raahloom, the Imposing Prototype's cannonballs or being killed with a Double Barrel Coach Gun blast with all pellets connecting).
    • This is not the case in Serious Sam HD, where he does not bleed. Strangely, despite being based on the Serious Sam 1 Kleer model, upon death, he reuses the HD Kleer model's destruction (albeit starting in an A-pose) and explosion sound, which makes him the only player character to not use the standard player destruction (Player.dtn).
