Johann Stein is a character in Serious Sam 3: BFE.
Overview
Johann Stein is a scientist that remain at museum in Cairo with Bravo team to find some clues regarding old Sirian technology, mostly the Time-Lock, as the museum has several old ruins taken from archaeological digs. He managed to found the way how to power up the Time-Lock, but all of the Bravo Team has been wiped out leaving him the only one left. So he needs an escort out. The Earth Defense Force sends Alpha Team, which includes Sam, to rescue him.
Sam, the only surviving member of the Alpha Team manages to reach the museum where Stein is at, but Stein tells the headquarters that he will only give the information after he got rescued. Unfortunately, Sam is too late, as Stein was killed and eaten by an Anteresian Spider before he can be rescued. However, Sam does find one of his hands and his phone, which has photos of the ruins and all the data about the Time-Lock he was looking for. Sam uploads the photos and data to HQ, then leaves the museum and headed to the extraction point.
